My Favorite Stump

Does anyone else have a favorite stump? This is very near the end of my back walk at the edge of the woods. I first noticed it last summer when it was this brilliant shade of orange.

Here it is during the winter. The orange is not quite as bright.

Here is the stump this summer. Notice how the color has changed and there is now some green on it. And a Virginia Creeper has taken hold.
I'm joining Claudia at Dipity Road for Finding Beauty Friday. Beauty can be found in some unusual places, even an old stump.

I have several, one in the middle of the swamp, one at the edge of the creek by the cabin and another, a huge rock, at the farm by the pond. It's funny how we find favorite places to dream, contemplate, just 'be', in the middle of nowhere., yet somewhere. Thanks for taking me to your spot.

I have several in my year. I love to find and take pictures of old twisted trees and stumps. I like to imagine what caused their shapes and what stories they could tell.

Yes! I do have favourite stumps! I don't see them so much now, because they were on longer walks that Sid (who only has three legs) can't do, but I remember them well!

Good choice for FFB!

Beautiful, have the birds been visiting the stump looking for bugs, I hope so. They are so entertaining in the garden.
