Dogwood in the Spotlight

This is my entry for Macro Flowers Saturday. I took the photo this spring as I was walking around Gordonsville, Virginia.

I love the way this blossom seems to be in the spotlight. You can see the texture of the petals and the shadow of the flower center. Click on the picture to see a real close up.

I love the dogwood tree and the blooms. We used to have groves of them wild in our area till the State started spraying the edges of the road with brush killer instead of cutting the sides back. They have slowly killed all of our beautiful wild flowering trees. It just breaks my heart.

This IS a beautiful dogwood. That type are all done blooming in Seattle. The ones with points are much later blooming, it seems. The round petals are prettier, I think.

By the way, the url you left had a "@" in it instead of a "." but I figured it out and found you.

What a beautiful flower...i like the whiteness of them.

The Dogwood is the provincial flower of British Columbia - they are found everywhere here, so that the woods at the roads' edges are blooming in white and pink.

What an amazing macro, with all the details on the petals' texture and the artistic lighting.

What an amazing MacroShot... very dramatic and unique view of the dogwood. Love the detail and the dark background really makes it pop.

I think that your dogwood flowers are so pretty - we see very few grown around here.

Dogwoods are so pretty. There's a pink one just full of blooms down the street from our house. Your photos are lovely.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Sorry for the late answer, I just woke up.
Your link on my list is on the eleventh position, where it always was. Still, the list lets you add as many links as you wish.
You must see the same thing as I do (theoretically). Please let me know if you don't see it. Was this the problem?

I asked you to correct your backlink in your very first sentence of this post and link to the main addressee of the blog because in a few day these posts (yours and mine)will be old.
There is a piece of code in red at the end of Macro Flowers Saturday post, you can copy from there if you wish.
Please let me know if there is something else.
