Spring Collage

Darn! I seem to forget how to use Picasa from one week to the next! But I can't find a simpler way to make a collage. Certainly I don't want to pay for software. When you goggle "photo mosaic" you get those things that look like a puzzle. Does anyone recommend an easy, free program?

Well, here it is. I took this picture last spring. We aren't this far along in Connecticut yet. Maybe in couple of weeks. After I created this in Picasa I put it into Photo Shop Elements and put a border on it.

I am deep into family history research. Learned that some family stories are just that - stories. I've been able to disprove one with research and census records. So rewarding to find tidbits of information.

Pretty mosaic - love that green.
We had dinner last night with a distant cousin. We sat for a very long time telling family stories, figuring who fit where and who belonged to who. It was fun!

Morning, that is a great mosaic. I use either Picnik, Photoscape or Picasa. The ones on my post today I did with Picasa.

I use the same programs that Jackie (previous comment) uses. Lots of creativity.

Lovely mosaic...

(A good free program is Photoscape.)

Yes, I have been learning this as well...some family stories have been embellished with time; however, sometimes the true story is more fascinating than the legend.

I use picasa and just mess around with the different options - you can move the pictures randomly - or change sizes or separate the photos - or use one photo for a background of the mosaic. Just take some photos and practice on picasa - it is the easiest one I've found - and you can't really mess up with it - because you can redo the mosaic until you are happy with it and then create it - and you can also edit once the mosaic is done. Have fun - explore!

Oh I'm glad you asked that question because I want to change my blog header and I was thinking I'd like to do something like what you have. I was going to try picnik. Linda

Hiya!
I most always use the easy peasy Mosaic in Picnik
(Free google photo editing...its wonderful)

Or Mary has always suggested Big Labs

Hope that helps

Picasa has been my poison of choice, but I might give Picnik a try.

Family history is fascinating. I'm deep into scanning generations worth of family photos and trying to identify those in them. Talk about time consuming!

Thanks for the tip - family history is fascinating and frustrating at the same time but it's worthwhile to preserve the memories for future generations.

I use Picassa 3 - it is easy to make a mosaic - but sometimes frustrating that it makes the boxes the size it wants not what you want! However you can randomly have the pictures through around the page and move them around by clicking on each one.
Have fun!

Hey! Just wanted to stop by and hey! I use Picnic all the time - but I'm not sure if the free version has a mosaic feature...I always forget about that - and it's so lovely! Hope you are enjoying your Spring!
