Wet Spring Green

Wet was the word for today. We had several downpours. The puddles had bubbles in them just like I remember the puddles from my childhood in Georgia. I managed to get out when it was only sprinkling and enjoy the wet greeness of everything. The moss was plump and soft. The ferns were brilliant.

These little blue flowers didn't mind the rain. Look at their soft "bed." Does anyone know the name of these flowers?

Join the Mosaic Monday party at Little Red House and see all the lovely collages.

Oh I wish you the best of luck with your new move. I'm sure it will be a blessing to be close to your daughter and SIL. Moss and ferns are so beautiful together, it makes for a fairytale setting. I think I just planted some of the plants with the blue flowers. I don't remember the name of it but if I find the name I'll send it your way. My is a ground cover. Your mosaics are so pretty.......

Those little blue flowers look like china paintings - so delicate.
I am SO tired of the rain - a little sunshine would be very welcome!

They look like bluets to me! Houstonia caerulea, although they could be a relative... I'm not 100% sure without having seen it in real life... Very pretty mosaic!

BunnyKissd is correct. I googled Bluets and it is a match. Also called Quaker Ladies. Thanks for the answer. Aren't they lovely? Nancy H

Lovely photos! I can't wait for warm weather and flowers.

Just ask your commenters and they will know. I'm glad that you found the answer as we have those growing wild in the little forest glens and I've always wondered. Bluets...a sweet name for them, too. Rainy, cold, and wet...glad that you were able to capture the whimsy of it all. Perhaps we'll have to amend the old expression to "May showers bring June flowers."

Nancy,

They are bluets and we have them growing wild around the edge of the woods. They are lovely. Your mosaics are gorgeous.

Have a great week!

Finally able to get your wonderful blog to open! For some reason IE refuses to let me look around your blog or comment. FF to the rescue!

Love that image of the beetle on the flower - a fleeting moment captured forever.

Off to look at more of your world here.

Oh look, there's Diane B above me!

Cheers,

Cindy

Love the photos! I was just talking about bluets with my neighbor, I love their alias "Quaker Ladies" ~ how cute is that! Love the ferns also, I'm going scouting for some in the woods this week!

We didn't have any rain in Maine until about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and it poured on our drive back to MA on Sunday!
