In our continuing quest to find local grown vegetables in Virginia, my hubby and I visited Millers' Farm stand on the Orange Plank Road, in Locust Grove. The sweet corn was fantastic! Sweetest corn I ever ate! I cook it in the microwave in the husk. Four minutes on high for two ears.

They also sell cut flowers. Beautiful, aren't they?

I bought both colors of tomatoes. Haven't had the yellow one yet. Will it taste the same?

These veggies look delish!!
I love yellow tomatoes. I like to have both kinds and slice them together with a sweet onion, in one bowl. Pretty and delicious. The yellow tomato is less acidic. Not a good candidate for canning,is what I've been told. I've canned red ones, but never tried the yellow. Maybe not great for canning, but oh my goodness, a real treat. At least that's what I think. It's not easy finding the yellow ones. We've had a few, this summer.
Ahhhhhh summer vegetables and flowers. I think that the yellow tomatoes we have had have been milder - but still delicious. I think I'll have a tomato sandwich for lunch - some crusty bread from the farmers market - a little mayo and hefty slices of fresh tomato - oh summer is so good.
Once again, you have some wonderful photos here!
I'm not an expert on tomato colors, but I'm sure some novelty on your plate is a good thing.
Great photos! Those tomotoes look so good! Ours are not ripe yet, can;t wait.
my mum has yellow tomatoes- in my experience they taste a bit different; a little sweeter!
There is just nothing better than a fresh farmers market, don't you think?
